Upgrade of 10 rooms into isolation rooms, including 9 negative pressure rooms and 1 positive pressure room.
The positive pressure room was built specifically for the burns unit, and includes an electric hoist.
HEPA filters were installed in all rooms, and added to the toilet extract ducting.
Seismic works were also carried out to ensure the area could remain at IL4 rating.

Refurbishment works took place in a live children's hospital, and were completed in stages to minimise disruption.
Focus and specialist mechanical subcontractor Advanced Air Conditioning began enabling works onsite in March 2021, however the project was then put on hold due to the Neonatal Unit refurbishment works (undertaken by another contractor) having greater priority at the time.
Works began properly onsite in November 2021, with two rooms being completed at a time.
