Adult Rehabilitation and Integrated Stroke Unit, Auckland City Hospital

Description of work:

  • Conversion of a central management administration suite into a new 41-bed Adult Rehabilitation and Integrated Stroke Unit (ARISU)
  • Located on Level 5 of the main hospital building, near the main entry
  • Demolition of existing administration areas
  • Construction of the new 41-bed inpatient ward (22 single, double and quad rooms), plus 23 en suite and toilet facilities.
  • Increasing the slab height by 50mm, to create the falls for the plumbing & drainage.
  • Construction of a large, open-plan rehabilitation gym within the unit.
  • Modification to radiology space, including creation of new intertenancy partition, installation of new medical service panels and make good of the radiology area – with radiology remaining operational at all times.
  • Included medical gases, tier-one wifi, nurse call system and bariatric ceiling hoist system in some bedrooms.
